Joey Wertz (Montoursville, PA) is the chip leader heading into the Day 2 final of the $700 NL tournament. "It was pretty slow today," says Wertz, "but I had a couple of good levels late."
The turning point for Wertz, who cashed three times in the Borgata Winter Open, comes when he calls the all-in of Matt Rosenbaum (Short Hills, NJ) with pocket kings and defeats A Q.
Wertz's takes his stack from 70k to 150k and continued to chip up until the end of the night.
The 18 remaining players return at noon Saturday to play for the top prize of $37,079.
