Event 11: Pizzarella on Fire; Fox Burned

$1,000 + $90 NL

Michael Pizzarella (r) and a fan

Michael Pizzarella (Worcester, MA) got his last 13k all-in, getting action from Andrew Kloc, who held A5. Michael's pocket Queens were ahead, but not too comfortable. It was over quickly as the flop came Q Q 3 giving Michael quadzilla and the double-up.

Soon after, Michael was all-in pre-flop again, this time with 42,900. He got called by seat 3, who tabled pocket 7s. Michael held pocket Jacks and was ahead, again, but this time the flop came 7 6 6 giving his opponent the full house.

When you're running good, however, you're running good. The turn delivered a Jack, giving Michael a better full house and when a Queen fell on the river, Michael doubled up again. Seat 2 claims he folded a Jack, so that turn card was a one-outer for Michael.

David Fox's comeback was short-lived, however. Following a raising war, he was all-in pre-flop holding pocket Jacks against a player holding pocket Queens. The Queens held up and David exited this event in 33rd place.

32 players remain...just 5 away from the money.
