Event 4: Big Stack Gets Bigger

East Coast Championship
$7200 + $300 (NL)

Chip leader Neehar Banerji checked the 9 9 4 flop over to Todd Terry on the button. Todd bet 1,400 and Neehr check-raised to 5,700. Todd gave it some thought, then said "I don't feel like calling you down. Nice bluff" as he mucked his hand. Neehar silently collected his chips.

The same two players tangled again a couple of hands later. On the turn the board read 7 4 3 A and Neehar checked. Todd bet 2k and got the call. River was another 4 and both players checked. Both appeared reluctant to show their hands, but Neehar finally rolled over his pocket 9s. Todd mucked and Neehar took another pot.

Vinny Pahuja

On the turn with a board of A A 9 6 with three spades, the small blind checked and Vinny Pahuja (button) bet 2,800. After burning some time bank, his opponent check-raised to 9,500. Vinny then took his turn in the tank, eyeballing his opponent's stack (about 15k left). Vinny tossed five 5k chips on top of his bet, raising enough to cover his opponent. The small blind went back into the tank for several minutes. He even apologized to the table for taking so long to act. His eventual decision was to muck and Vinny pulled the pot.
